Mark Twain was the master of aphorisms, especially those with dualistic structures — quite appropriate given his pen name (which was actually based on a nautical term, but hey, it’s a nice coincidence). Hence he gets extra coverage on this blog.

Related Meme: ”An Optimist Sees the Glass as Half-Full, A Pessimist Sees the World as Half-Empty.” I once met a person who always saw the glass as completely full, even though it wasn’t. On the flipside, I also knew a person who saw the glass as half-empty, dirty, filled with germs, possibly made from contaminated lead glass from China, etc. etc.. I’ve also heard this one: ”The Engineer sees the Glass as Twice As Big As It Needs to Be.” The way I see it: “The entrepreneur sees the glass as undervalued by half its potential.”There are two kinds of people in the world: Those who follow the rules and those who make the rules.

My theory is that when it comes to important subjects, there’s only two ways a person can answer. For example, there’s two kinds of people in this world, Elvis people and Beatles people. Now Beatles people can like Elvis. And Elvis people can like the Beatles. But nobody likes them both equally.
Somewhere you have to make a choice. And that choice tells me who you are.
There are two kinds of people: those who like me..& those who can go to hell!
There are two kinds of people: those who want money and those who don’t know what they want
There are two kinds of people in the world, those that hear bad news and want to run away and those that dig their feet in and want to fight.”
So why am I writing about this? Well, because there are important people in this world and unimportant people in this world. But how do you know which one you fall into? Well, my friend apparently thinks I am unimportant. I was easily forgotten in 3 days, just like that. THAT easy!!! Just like there are two types of people in this world, ones that entertain and ones that observe. There are two types of guys in this world: onces that can hang with me and the ones who are scared. Fear of Abandonment, Get Empowered !!!!!At its core, fear of abandonment is powerlessness.
All fears come down to a lack of power. So it follows that empowerment is needed.
A lot of different things bring empowerment. Understanding what is happening...
And what can be done Is empowering. When you understand your fear, you understand it is like a ghost. But...before we bring courage (empowerment) to your abandonment issues, a word about dis-empowerment. I just read the top result on Google for “fear of abandonment”. It is sadly typical – totally dis-empowering. The article explains "that abandonment issues can be treated with therapy as long as the individual is willing to use the therapist as a pillar to lean against while learning to be self sufficient." And yet another prominent "expert" article said that people cannot get over these issues on their own.
This kind of information is a disservice. It promotes the idea that if you have fear of abandonment, you are "ill" and incapable of dealing with emotional stress.
It is telling you to believe in the same powerlessness that supports abandonment issues in the first place.
Is there any way to heal?
Of course – simple principles of brain science bring understanding, empowerment, and healing...and I provide some simple steps for you to take toward healing below.
Will that also help with depression?
Of course – fear is emotional stress and emotional stress is linked to depression.
How does courage (empowerment) fit in?
Courageous, accepting, positive people who embrace growth
are not afraid of ghosts. Voila’! (say: "Wa La"!)
When fear of abandonment is called an illness, it only makes things worse. A LOT worse.
Lest we forget: Relationships are natural -- unhealthy (or absent) relationships are unnatural. Folks, as humans our brains and nervous systems are hard-wired to need relationships! This is actually a healthy, good need. These shifts change you from the inside out and ripple out into your life and relationships. These shifts change you:
So sad.... goodnight and Ambien is kicking in....
